Utilities Maintenance WorkerTo perform a wide variety of semi-skilled to skilled work in theconstruction, replacement, repair, installation, and cleaning of theTown's water distribution system, natural gas system, wastewater systemand related facilities.Essential Functions: Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:Install, remove, clean, and repair water lines, gas lines,sewer lines and related facilities.Locate and repair water & gas leaks, damaged lines, and worn valves.Install new water meter pits and water and gas meters.Install, test, repair, and replace fire hydrants & backflowprevention devices.Build and repair manholes, catch basins, and other related facilities.Turn on new water & gas services, turn off discontinued water &gas services and delinquencies, and distribute notification papers relatedto tCollect water samples, perform a variety of routine tests: recordand monitor results.Perform road grading and snow removal.Locate underground services.Respond to public complaints and requests for service.Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
Operation of heavy equipment including backhoe & road grader.Basic construction, repair, and maintenance methods, procedures,tools, equipment, and materials.Safe work practices under hazardous conditions.
License & Certifications:
Possession of a valid Colorado Driver's License to be maintained as acondition of continued employment.Acquire the necessary Water Distribution License, WastewaterCollection System Operator License, and Gas Operator Qualification Licensewithin a prescribed timetable.
