Oversees instructional materials each student brings from their homeschool district. Coordinate with school districts and school counselorsregarding individual educational needs. Keep information on patientscounselor and academic schedule. Students counselor will discuss whatacademic material is to be covered during the length of stay at the OPprogram. Educational liaison will provide appropriate and timelyfeedback to parents, schools, and patients regarding educational needsand concerns. Maintain accurate and complete records of studentsprogress. Manage student behaviors in the classroom by establishing andenforcing rules and procedures. During non-school days will providetherapeutic activities to patients and groups of patients.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical / Technical Skills (40% of performance review)
?Oversees the academic activities of each patient and will helpfacilitate active learning experiences.
?Communicate with the academic home school counselor and parent aboutthe academic work assigned during the OP program.
?Communicates with the parent if problems with student completingacademic work.
?Coordinates with school districts and school counselors regardingindividual educational needs.
?Provides appropriate and timely feedback to parents, schools, andpatients regarding educational needs.
?Interacts with patients and groups of patients to enhance communicationand delivery of quality care.
?Possess the necessary communication skills to interpret the needs ofspecific age groups in response to treatments.
?Provides therapeutic activities to patients and groups of patientsduring non-school days.
?Perform other duties as assigned.
