Visit www.cdc.gov Responsibilities As an Economist, you will: Serve as an advisor and consultant regarding cost-analysis, cost-benefit, cost-effectiveness, and cost-utility to scientists and a variety of individuals, groups, and organizations working to prevent injury. Provide leadership and technical assistance for the development of research and evaluation projects; study methodology, and cost-effective interventions; provides technical assistance to facilitate the implementation of study protocols in research settings. Recommend priorities for economic evaluations (cost analysis, cost-benefit cost- effectiveness, and cost-utility) and policy assessments of safety and health activities including, but not limited to, strategies, programs, and process. Identify methodologies and designing cost-analysis, cost-benefit, cost-effectiveness, cost-utility studies, and mathematical models. Collaborate with program managers and operatives, other scientists, public health experts and officials, and others in the preparation and dissemination of findings, and the application and translation of findings to prevention activities. Basic Qualifications: A. Degree: Economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR B.
