Blended position Part clinical and part medical director
Essential Job DutiesProvide strategic leadership for study teams that integrate the individual'sknowledge in the disease area, knowledge from the medical community aroundthe world and the commercial, research, regulatory, and medical researchgoals in the disease area.
Develop approaches and protocols to demonstrate efficacy using both clinicaland biomarker endpoints.Develop the necessary strategies to advance Intermountain's reputationrelating to major studies, including early phase study teams in conjunctionwith operations leads and clinical program leads; provide medical oversightand direction; focus on study design and execution, ongoing medical datareview to ensure data integrity; and review and interpretation of dataEngage external experts to accumulate, review, analyze and communicatescientific and medical knowledge necessary to support clinical developmentEnsure studies and initiatives are consistent with overall program goals andthe Research Leadership Team.Integrate the scientific rationale, regulatory requirements, productdevelopment plan, and commercial goals to build a solid strategic frameworkfor the Clinical Trials program
Minimum Requirements
M.D. or D.O. Education must be obtained through an ACGME or AOA accreditedinstitution. Degree will be verified.ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification.Active Utah Medical Licensure or in the process of obtaining licensure.Five years of experience leading successful improvement in a clinical trialssetting.Demonstrated experience leading industry-sponsored, federally-funded, andinvestigator-initiated trials.Demonstrated experience as a principal investigator in interventional andtherapeutic studies.Experience in managing budgets, overseeing operations, and analyzingoutcomes associated with all aspects of clinical investigationHave a record of experience and commitment to continuing professionaleducation.Understand change management with the ability to provide leadership in theadaptation and implementation of new processes and technology that enhancesafety.Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Experience in a role requiring effective conflict resolution skills to workeffectively with difficult issues.
