The Opportunity
The Economic Research Analyst is critical to the success of the Economic Research Team and will report directly to the Associate Director, Agricultural Economics. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can work well in a team environment, embrace the responsibility of collecting and analyzing data, as well as constructing and maintaining databases, and thrive in a support role as a member of the economic research and larger investment team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of economic fundamentals and experience working with economic and financial data series. Experience sourcing, collecting and managing complex data is highly valued along with professional experience practicing economics and/or finance, a basic understanding of real asset investments, and familiarity with the farmland sector is a plus. They are a self-starter that is organized, detail oriented, and effective in working in a multi-stakeholder, deadline driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain organized and readily accessible databases to support recurring research, special projects and new market analysis
Collect, organize, and analyze data
Perform exploratory research via the Internet, third-party research, and internal sources on a variety of natural resource-related topics
Summarize research via PowerPoint or Word
Produce and update charts, data tables and graphs for recurring and ad hoc presentations and reports
Update data and write commentary for reoccurring publications and reports
Support internal team members with various data requests
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree and/or relevant business or economic research experience preferred
Strong statistical and data analytical software skills (Excel proficiency required, other data analytical and visualization skills highly valued, including Power BI, Python, R, SQL), PowerPoint skills desired.
Knowledge of Economics/Finance concepts and data, and interest in quantitative analysis
Organized and meticulous with accuracy
Comfortable oral and written communicator of research results
Strong writing skills
Self-starter with a high work effort and ability to deliver results timel
Exposure to natural resource sector is highly preferred

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location
Boston, Massachusetts
Salary range is expected to be between
$74,000.00 USD - $124,000.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
