  Job Description

  First impressions are everything! As a Dry Cleaner with Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge you will have the opportunity to create lasting memories for every Guest, ensuring garments and linen are properly washed. The luxury our Guests experience will ensure their return.

  What you will be doing:  

  Wash and Dry clean all uniforms, guest laundry and other’s personal items.

  Sort soiled linen, label and make ready for pick up

  Load / unload washing machines and dryers

  Ensuring hotel standards are maintained within the Valet area.

  Liaising with the Staff Services department to ensure quality and quantity of uniforms are being met in accordance to departmental and hotel needs.

  Liaising with the Engineering department on Valet equipment maintenance.

  Providing courteous and professional service at all times to all guests, contracts and colleagues.

  Ensuring the Health and Safety of guests and colleagues.

  Maintaining good working relations with all other departments.

  Must be flexible in regards to work schedules.

  Maintaining all policies and procedures pertaining to the department.

  Assisting with all daily duties including receiving all garments, cleaning and maintaining the Dry cleaner machine.

  Able to maintain a clean organized work area.

  Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles

  Other duties as assigned

  Qualifications

  Your experience and skills include:

  Good physical condition required

  Previous dry-cleaning knowledge an asset

  Well organized and able to work under pressure

  Strong communication skills and excellent working knowledge of the English language

  Able to make effective decisions

  Knowledge of materials and chemicals, WHMIS an asset

  Highly responsible & reliable

  Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision

  Physical effort: required to lift up to 25 lbs; constant repetitive motion

  Environmental stress: high noise level, work with hazardous machinery, chemical use

  Your team and working environment:

  Walking: 6-8 hrs/day

  Standing: 4-6 hr/day

  Bending/Reaching: 6-8 hrs/day

  Pushing/Pulling: 1-2 hrs/day

  Physical Effort: Required to lift up to 50-80 lbs

  Environmental Stress: high-works in hot/cold conditions, high noise level, work with hazardous machinery, constantly going in and out of buildings

  Fast-paced, upscale, luxury hotel

  Close proximity to Marmot Basin Ski Resorts in winter and world-renowned hiking trails in summer

  Additional Information

  Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
