The Director VBC Analytics is the linchpin for complex value-based care contract performance. With a focus on population health analytics and exceeding customer expectations, you will spearhead operational, clinical, and financial outcomes that shape the future of our organization and the well-being of the communities we serve. The Director will orchestrate executive-level reporting and actionable analytics for operational enhancements. The Director, VBC Analytics will lead the implementation of the Populance analytics strategy, with emphasis on complex value-based care contract performance analytics to enable clients to optimally perform through informed decision making, including clinical and operational improvements. The scope includes all value-based care contracts for Populance clients. The Director VBC Analytics will be responsible for executive level reporting for Populance clients and Populance executive leadership, cascading executive level reporting into actionable analytics for operations including all operational performance levers of quality, risk adjustment, and utilization, with relevant deep dive root cause analyses, via storytelling and expert data visualization. The Director will lead analytics for total cost of care, cost and utilization, chronic disease management, episodes of care, and post-acute utilization, while working collaboratively with subject matter exports to incorporate meaningful data and analytics for risk adjustment and quality reporting. You will lead the value-based care analytics team, providing strategic insight and direction to value-based care analytics team, as well as relevant other teams providing risk adjustment and quality reporting. Establish the Populance data analytics processes governance playbook with standards and definitions for analytics calculations, methodologies, benchmarks, risk adjustment. The Director VBC Analytics will work collaboratively with Henry Ford Health Analytics and IT and Health Alliance Plan Analytics and IT and future clients to create necessary data marts, extracts, and data models for analytics end users. This position will serve on key leadership teams and will collaborate with executives across the client organization(s) and will partner closely with the Populance Director of Population Health Operations Analytics.
Education/Experience Required:
· Master's Degree in Accounting, OR Master's Degree in Finance, OR Master’s Degree in Health Administration, OR Master's Degree in Business.
· Ten plus (10+) years of experience in complex data analytics for health plans, health systems, managed care, accountable care organizations, or physician groups, including three to five (3-5) years of leadership experience in population health type roles.
· Experienced in CMS BPCIA preferred. Knowledge of CMS / CMMI programs.
· Experienced in using Power BI.
· High aptitude for data analytics and data visualization.
· Understanding of health care payer contracting, organizational goals relating to value-based care, clinical integration, and the financial performance of health care payer agreements.
· In-depth knowledge of the health care and payer finance industry.
· Expert knowledge of managed care business.
· Proficient with big data health care analytics, including physician, hospital and pharmacy claims, lab results and electronic medical record data.
· Advanced skills converting complicated quantitative and qualitative analyses into visual displays resulting in actionable improvements for the intended audience.
· Expert knowledge of claims and clinical databases and financial models.
· Demonstrated ability to translate analytics into meaningful action for clinical / medical teams.
· Excellent oral and written presentation skills and ability to make effective oral presentations and prepare concise written reports to a variety of audiences, including executive leadership.
· Capable of independent thinking in terms of considering potential arenas for analysis or performance improvement to initiate projects around those areas without direction.
· Ability to effectively manage complex, dynamically changing priorities around the needs of customers and bring a marketing mentality in providing exceptional customer service to clients.
Certifications/Licensures Required:
· RN / PhD / MD preferred.
