As part of a multidisciplinary team-based service, we are looking for a Director of Psychiatry - Crisis Center (Psychiatrist), the physician in this role provides psychiatric evaluations and short-term medication management for patients who present at the 24-hour Crisis Stabilization Unit within the Behavioral Health Crisis Center. Responsible for the daily clinical operations of the Crisis Stabilization Unit; provides direct supervision of Nurse Practitioner and other assigned staff.
Network 180's Behavioral Health Crisis Center is a 24/7 facility that serves adults 18 years and older and includes a walk-in Brief Intervention Clinic and a secure Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The setting provides assessment and unscheduled clinical services designed to prevent or resolve mental health or substance-related crises. The Crisis Center aims to provide these services to individuals whose crisis will typically resolve within a few hours, however, may require up to seventy-two (72) hours of treatment; and where services can be voluntary or involuntary.
The CSU fills a key gap in the Kent County Crisis Continuum of Care and will provide more efficient, effective, equitable crisis behavioral health care in a setting designed and staffed to provide this type of treatment.
The CSU also aims to divert individuals from jail, emergency departments, and inpatient psychiatric hospital settings to an appropriate least restrictive treatment setting whenever it can be achieved safely and successfully.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: *
Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician and Medicaid enrolled.Federal DEA and DEA-X Waiver Licensed in the State of Michigan.Be eligible to become American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) Board Certified.At least two years of experience as a practicing psychiatrist, however, will consider candidates out of residency.Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Psychiatrist with fellowships in addiction psychiatry/addiction medicine and/or consultation liaison psychiatry will be given preference.
