This position leads the college's Institutional Research efforts. The Director of Institutional Research performs all necessary functions related to the collection, interpretation, and use of institutional data for planning, assessment, and decision making. As the key contact for data needs, the director facilitates access to information maintained in the college's administrative/student information system to support college operations. The Director also ensures the integrity of institutional data and provides data analysis, reporting, or research as needed to support institutional objectives.
ResponsibilitiesEstablishes, administers, and coordinates the college's institutional research activities including collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting information for use in decision-making, planning, and compliance reporting.
Accountable for all college data, serving as the institutional point of contact for any department that requires data, reports, research, or analysis.
Presents and distributes official college data to key stakeholders utilizing various forms of communication.
Maintains processes that ensure the integrity, reliability, validity, accuracy, transparency, and confidentiality of data.
Performs needs assessments to determine the types of information and data to be collected, while also responding to ad hoc requests for data and analysis.
Queries and manipulates databases for various institutional reports.
Conducts data analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics and applies qualitative methodologies when appropriate.
Serves as liaison from the college to various authorities at the federal, state, and local levels for data reporting, research studies, or surveys.
Manages, completes, and maintains state, federal, and other agency reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Collects and analyzes data from a variety of sources including internal systems, state and federal agencies, other higher education institutions, and other external sources.
Establishes and maintains processes that ensure the integrity, reliability, validity, accuracy, and transparency of college data.
Leads college-wide data governance; includes guidance for priorities and objectives from leadership and committee stakeholders recruited from relevant departments and data users.
Designs and conducts quantitative and qualitative research projects.
Administers and oversees the institutional research office budget.
Serves on appropriate campus-wide committees as requested.
Supports the college's mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines. Ensures compliance with all Federal and State regulations guiding the function.
