  Understanding how infrastructure and systems impact user experience is critical as applications become distributed and more complex. Splunk Observability Cloud is a new generation of SaaS and on-prem-based metric, KPI, and application performance management solutions built to help engineers deliver better, faster, and more reliable applications. We're looking for a Director of Engineering to help lead a diverse team of engineers to build upon our IT Service Intelligence product as we innovate on application observability. We move fast and iterate quickly. We are obsessed with solving customers’ problems. We have ambitious goals to build best-of-its-kind products. You will help the team win in a fast-growing market.

  As a manager at Splunk, your primary role is to help your team reach its maximum potential through mentorship and coaching. You will bring a ton of empathy while holding the line of high quality and helping people grow. You will collaborate closely with your peers across all engineering areas as well as product management, program management, UX, and documentation multi-functional teams to help your team deliver success to our customers.   Role

  Develop psychological safety and cultivate an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a coach, mentor, and technical advisor.

  Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent teams from delivering high-quality software.

  Facilitate technical discussions and help your team make intelligent technical decisions that balance short-term and long-term goals.

  Foster an approach of solid ownership and empower people to take initiative.

  Be responsible for team execution and delivery.

  Work with product management to help resolve priorities and the team roadmap.

  Plan and support career development.

  Recruit and retain great talent.

  Requirements

  Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams focused on large-scale, on-prem, and distributed SaaS systems.

  Demonstrated experience with DevOps practices and leading teams to build and operate their products.

  Experience working directly with customers and training engineers how to work with customers

  Passionate about good engineering practices, new technologies, and improving processes, and have a consistent record of mentoring and coaching team members.

  Passionate about building elegant and powerful tools to solve customer problems.

  Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  10+ years of Software Engineering experience and a recent 6+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

  Note:

  Base Pay Range

  India

  Base Pay: INR 7,200,000.00 - 9,900,000.00 per year

  Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
