　　SMX is seeking a skilled and experienced Windows Administrator / Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and maintaining Windows Server environments, as well as hands-on experience in successfully migrating systems to Windows Server 2022. As a Windows Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our Windows infrastructure. This position is remote supporting a Boston, MA based team.

　　Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

　　Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain uptime service

　　Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various operational needs

　　Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments

　　Proactively monitoring system performance and alerts and work individually or with team members to resolve issues

　　Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware

　　Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks

　　Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment

　　Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes

　　Required Skills and Experience:

　　Server Operation and Management of Windows Servers 2012/2016/2019

　　Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems

　　Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively

　　Plan and coordinate the migration process, ensuring minimal downtime and a smooth transition

　　Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements and implement migration strategies

　　Apply patches and updates to keep Windows servers secure and up to date

　　Develop and implement patch management strategies to minimize service disruptions

　　Desired Qualifications:

　　Experience migrating to Windows Server 2022

　　3+ years’ experience as a Windows Administrator

　　Demonstrated experience in planning and executing successful Windows Server migrations

　　Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)

　　Experience with server virtualization technologies, such as Hyper-V, VMware

　　Strong understanding of security best practices in Windows environments.

　　Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

　　Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

　　Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA) are a plus
