Nexstar Media Group is seeking a Director of Engineering – Special Projects. Reporting to the VP of Network Operations. This position will assist in the success of multiple Nexstar properties, including The CW and NewsNation. Successful candidates will have extensive experience in project management and design in a broadcast engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, install, and document projects across broadcast television systems. These systems include field cameras, editing, ENG/SNG/CNG equipment, audio/video production, etc.
Responsible for selecting, planning, designing, and managing the installation of broadcast systems, managing associated capital budgets, establishing operating procedures, and managing personnel training using the systems listed.
Plan and execute the technical aspects of remote special productions.
Identify and execute process and workflow improvements across broadcast and administrative systems.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Candidate must have at least five years’ experience in the television industry with solid engineering and troubleshooting skills.
A degree in engineering, broadcasting, or IT-related fields is preferred.
Prior management skills, similar positions held, and training experience are highly desired.
Working knowledge of the following technologies: HD-SDI, Autocad, Wirecad, video production, news production, file-based workflows, wired and wireless networking, and RF systems.
Strong organizational, written communications, and interpersonal skills required.
Must be willing to travel regularly.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000
