  WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  Nike India is hiring for a Director, Marketplace to be based in Nike’s Bangalore office. We’re looking for a highly effective leader who will play a critical role in leading the next phase of Nike India’s marketplace elevation and expansion through our strategic accounts, digital platforms and retail stores businesses.

  We are searching for someone who has strong retail business leadership, negotiation and influencing capabilities, with a positive, ambitious attitude, a passion for sport, fashion and laying the foundations for significant future business growth. We are looking for an individual who can learn and adapt in a highly diverse and rapidly evolving environment.

  WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

  In this role, your core duties include building holistic, sustainable growth across our marketplace channels (i.e., Partner Management, Digital Retail and Physical Stores) and laying the foundations for digital retail growth in India via Nike’s digital platforms. You will partner closely with the Southeast Asia & India (SEA&I) territory leaders to develop plans for the India marketplace. You will indirectly lead the India Marketplace team (dotted line), establishing strong alignment and leveraging local insights and connections.

  You will be accountable for executing and analyzing business plans and performance targets, working with cross-functional business groups (e.g., Product, Merchandising, Marketing etc.) to develop programs and processes to achieve revenue targets and strong brand positioning. You’ll also manage the brand by executing and aligning brand initiatives that ensure strategic sales growth. You will create and implement business plans for achieving revenue growth and other financial targets. You will lead and oversee the process for realistic and accurate scenario planning, forecasting, seasonal initiatives, business analysis and new sales opportunities. You will also be the voice of product priorities. Ensure that the sales team, staff, and appropriate partners (Product, Strategy, Marketing etc.) are aligned and business plans are executed in coordination. You will prepare, plan, and deliver clear and persuasive product presentations at functional meetings. Your entrepreneurial skills will help you to develop and execute strategies across Marketplace channel, including longer-term strategic plans. You will manage issues and resolve conflicts across cross functional teams, both internally and externally and maintain deliberate connections across functions and teams.

  WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

  In this role, you’ll report directly to the General Manager, India also based in Bangalore and will be part of the Nike India Leadership Team. You will indirectly manage a diverse India team tasked with laying the foundations for the next phase of growth for Nike India. You’ll work with stakeholders across India, the Southeast Asia & India (SEA&I) territory, as well as our Asia Pacific and Latin America (APLA) geography and Nike global organization.

  WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

  A degree in business administration, management or marketing.

  Minimum 12 years of relevant retail sales development experience, ideally managing rapid-growth, consumer-facing digital businesses.

  Deep understanding of the retail landscape/development in India.

  Expertise and a strong vision on the future of retail experiences, with a focus on commerce and the interaction across physical and digital channels.

  Knowledge and experience on national and global sporting industry and marketplace trends.

  Ability to think strategically and provide problem-solving solutions.

  Expertise in leading, mentoring and developing individuals, as well as proven cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
