Job Summary:
As an integral member of the Miami University (Oxford, OH) Center for Career Exploration and Success (CCES), the Director of Experiential Education will work closely with the Assistant Vice President to provide vision, leadership and innovation in expanding experiential and immersive career-related experiences for students. The successful candidate will oversee staff and expand and develop internships, micro-internships, co-ops, career treks and job shadow experiences designed to promote student success and career mobility post-graduation. In addition, the Director will launch a Career Champions program designed to scale career development within Miami's Career Community including faculty, staff, parents and employers. The Director will be an outstanding leader with proven experience in launching complex initiatives and working effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.Remote work is not a right, it is a work arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason, including the convenience of the University.The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000.
Duties/Physical Demands:
In conjunction with the Assistant Vice President of Career Exploration and Success, the Director will develop strategies and policies; and oversee career-related experiential education and immersive experiences including but not limited to internships, micro-internships, co-ops, job shadow experiences, and career treks (including Presidential Career and Leadership Series).Develop and execute a Career Champions Program that will equip stakeholders (faculty, staff, parents, employers) with information to help promote student career readiness.Create data and assessment plans to gauge the effectiveness of career-related experiential and immersive experiences and ensure diverse populations of students engage with experiential education. Collaborate with the Data/Assessment Coordinator to ensure execution and evaluation. Use findings to a) derive new strategies and b) leverage for effective story-telling.Build effective relationships and advise/support faculty and administrators on best practices related to experiential education.Serve on the CCES Leadership Team. Attend meetings and assist in the creation of office-wide policies, priorities, and operations.Assist in coordinating office-wide special events, programs, workshops, career fairs, and other events as needed. Participate in inclusive excellence training and actively enhance inclusive excellence practices throughout CCES.Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight years of professional experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Advanced degree; preferably experience in higher education working with faculty and staff to launch new initiatives.
