  The Department of Health Systems and Population Health (HSPop) has an excellent opportunity for a temporary, part-time (50% - 75% FTE) Research Coordinator to work with the Health Promotion Research Center (HPRC), one of 26 Prevention Research Centers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

  This position will primarily support a new project in collaboration with Sound Generations and the Washington State Health Care Authority to develop mobile crisis response resources for older adults. The Research Coordinator will support all phases of the project, including researching and analyzing crisis response practices; developing focus group and interview guides; convening, conducting, analyzing, and summarizing focus groups and key informant interviews; developing a systems map of existing crisis response resources; and developing an older adult mobile crisis response resource. Other responsibilities include coordinating communication within the project team and with project partners; scheduling focus groups and interviews; and associated coordination tasks that arise during the project lifecycle. Overall, this position will have a significant contribution in designing and conducting project activities.

  This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, and flexibility to work with partners. The candidate who fills this position will work with community and state partners, project design and implementation, dissemination activities, as well as project management and technical support. The Research Coordinator will represent the project when interacting with research partners, community partners, research participants, and other stakeholders.

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Research Coordination (60%)

  Coordinate and participate in all phases of project activities and deliverables.

  Plan, develop agendas, and participate in investigator, research project team, and partner meetings; track action items.

  Coordinate communication with study team, center administrative staff, and partners, which may include state agencies, health systems, and community-based organizations.Research Development and Implementation (20%)

  Participate in the research and analysis of crisis response practices and development of a systems map of existing crisis response resources.

  Collaborate with project team to develop focus group and interview guides.

  Coordinate and support conducting focus groups and stakeholder interviews.Analysis and Dissemination of Findings (15%)

  Assist in analyzing focus groups and interviews findings.

  Collaborate on and contribute to the design, creation, drafting and editing of project-specific deliverables and written communications, e.g., journal articles, reviews, meeting summaries, progress reports, and PowerPoint presentations.Other duties as assigned (5%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Health Administration, Genetic Counseling or a related field AND 1 year of experience in public health or social service OR an equivalent combination or education and experience.

  Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple project team members who come from a variety of professional backgrounds.

  Ability to represent HPRC in a professional and congenial manner with professional colleagues both within academia and in public and private organizations outside of academia.

  Experience working in cross-sector projects or partnerships.

  Demonstrated qualitative research skills (instrument design, focus groups/interviews, and analysis).

  Strong oral and written communication skills.

  Ability to work both independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.

  Ability to exercise sound judgment and to address complex situations with creativity.

  Ability to communicate well with people from diverse ethnic/racial, socioeconomic, and professional backgrounds.

  Ability to review existing research, literature, and resources to contribute to the creation of project deliverables.

  Highly organized and attentive to detail.

  Ability to balance multiple demands simultaneously under time constraints.

  Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  Two to three years’ work experience in the field of public health or social services.

  Experience or strong interest in older adult populations.

  Experience with community-based crisis response.

  Experiences with qualitative analysis software.
