  Position Description:

  Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operations and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgement.

  Major/Essential Functions:

  Desire to work with individuals and groups in an administrative and professional setting. Flexible/adaptable and copes well with change. Must support the principles of student development. Computer literacy in desktop publishing, database/spreadsheet management and word processing.

  Ensure programming execution through providing coordination, support and guidance. Program areas to include, but are not limited to: Student Organization management and training, student and advisor leadership development, risk management education, and service engagement.

  Coordinate curriculum development for student leadership programming.

  Coordinate service engagement opportunities for students.

  Develop strategic plans, assessment projects, monthly reports, annual reports for campus programs and services administered, coordinated, and supervised to include Student Org management and training, student and advisor leadership development, risk management education, and service engagement.

  Provide budget management and oversight for the areas of Student Involvement to include: Student Organization management and training, student and advisor leadership development, risk management education, and service engagement.

  Assist with Office of Student Conduct investigations involving student organizations when needed.

  Provide support for organizations, advisors, and staff during crisis.

  Coordinate and/or provide support for all marketing, recruitment, and promotional activities for promoting Student Involvement (printed publications, website, electronic, video, presentation, activity fairs, etc.).

  Manage the Campus Labs Engage platform (TechConnect) to ensure proper use by students, staff, and faculty on campus.

  Management of student organizations, allocated Student Service Fee funds, leadership programs, community service office, serve as a resource to Student Government Association.

  Supervision: Ability to allocate and plan the workload of employees providing direction, evaluation, support, and training as necessary.

  Leadership: Providing direction to staff and serving students by getting work done through others, provide appropriate training, and facilitating staff development opportunities.

  Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Life - Campus Life.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Master's degree in student personnel or related field.

  Three years full time experience in Student Affairs or related setting.

  Membership and/or experience working on a college campus with undergraduate students involved in student organizations, including fraternities and sororities. Experience working with a diverse group of students in the areas of program or group facilitation, presentations, or investigations. Experience developing student leadership programming. Supervisory experience.

  Bachelor's degree in related area required plus five years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

  Student Involvement has hosted many events such as our Raider Welcome Student Org Fair, Winter Student Org Fair, Student Org Advisor Appreciation, MLK Student Org Fair, Student Org Leader Orientation, and many more. Also, we provide training and workshops to our organizations like the Risk Management Training, Intent to Form Training, Reinstatement Training, and Constitution/Bylaws Workshop. Our department strives for our organizations to be up to date with all trainings and workshops we provide.
