Overview BigBear.ai is seeking a highly skilled Lead DevSecOps Engineer with expertise in crafting GitLab CI/CD pipelines within AWS GovCloud for both Impact Level 5 (IL5) and Impact Level 6 (IL6) environments. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in development, operations, and security, and must be capable of automating and securing software deployment processes, with a willingness to work on-site for IL6-related tasks as needed. A remote schedule will initially be implemented through the end of April and will increase to hybrid, 3 days onsite in Chantilly, VA as the project matures. What you will do Architect, deploy, and manage secure and efficient GitLab CI/CD pipelines suitable for IL5 and IL6 within AWS GovCloud Integrate security controls and compliance checks within the CI/CD pipeline, adhering to DoD IL5 and IL6 standards Provide support and guidance to development teams, ensuring the incorporation of security best practices from the inception of software development Securely manage AWS services, focusing on operational integrity within GovCloud, and specifically for IL6, where on-site work may be required Work in collaboration with cybersecurity teams to maintain and improve software and infrastructure security measures Continuously explore and implement new DevSecOps tools and technologies to optimize both pipeline performance and security Create detailed documentation for security and operational procedures, ensuring clarity and consistency across teams What you need to have Clearance: must possess and maintain active Secret level clearance Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, and 8+ years of experience, or; Associates Degree and 10+ years of experience, or; Master's Degree and 6+ years of experience, or; PhD and 3+ years of experience, or; (in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, 14+ years of relevant experience) Must Have: CompTIA Security+ certification 8+ years of hands-on experience in DevSecOps Proven track record with GitLab CI/CD pipelines, specifically within AWS GovCloud Skilled in scripting and IaC with tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation Experienced with integrating artifact repositories and security scanning tools to pipelines (Nexus, Sonarqube, etc) Proficient with EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies for containerization and orchestration Thorough understanding of cloud system engineering principles in AWS GovCloud, particularly for IL5 and IL6 Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams What we'd like you to have Experience with Appian, MuleSoft, and Qlik in the context of DevSecOps pipeline construction Background in working within government or regulated industry sectors, particularly for IL6 environments Additional professional certifications relevant to the role Willingness to work on-site as required for IL6 environment tasks AWS certification such as, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate About BigBear.ai BigBear.ai delivers AI-powered analytics and cyber engineering solutions to support mission-critical operations and decision-making in complex, real-world environments.
