Development Engineer II (Honda Performance Development, Inc.- Santa Clarita, CA): Responsible for creating development plans from concepts to completion of testing powertrain components. Execute tests and validations required to achieve project goals. Investigate and follow route cause analysis methods to countermeasures that meet project targets and timing. Analyze test bench data, prepare reports of results, and propose next steps; operate and review test equipment and simulations; and implement and analyze test procedures. Responsible for design of experiment methodologies, optimization techniques and modeling to include combustion analysis and dyno-testing. Engage in technical discussions with HPDs Engineering and Production (Assembly, Manufacturing, QA, Parts, Material, and Procurement) Divisions. Create concise presentations of testing results, analysis, conclusions, and suggestions for future development.
Requirements: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. 3 years of experience as an engineer working in the development and testing of hybrid/electronic motors including engine performance development, and engine boost control.Experience must have included: 3 years with development and testing of powertrains including test planning, procedure writing, data acquisition and analysis; 3 years with technical report writing. Must have engineering knowledge including control systems, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, statics and dynamics, and internal combustion engines or electrified power trains. Must be proficient with engine test lab equipment, data acquisition, and data analysis tools. Required technical skills: MATLAB, LabVIEW, C Programming, Dyno Testing Systems (Engine/ Chassis), Oscilloscope, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) Working knowledge of internal combustion engine/ electrified powertrain mechanics,
