This position is primarily responsible for managing a dedicated team of engineers performing Licensing Basis Events (LBE) analyses using Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor (SFR) systems analysis modeling and simulation tools to support the Natrium design and licensing. This position also supports the senior manager in project scheduling and reporting activities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deploy analytical methods, computational models and perform plant LBE analyses to support the Natrium design and licensing processEstablish and maintain documentation of model and methods development, and analysis resultsInterface with regulators, stakeholders, and reactor designers on safety analysis and engineering design issuesWork with the Senior Manager and Project Account Engineer to develop and maintain the subproject schedule and budgetEffectively communicate project expectations and assignments to team membersManage the Deterministic Safety Analysis Team to deliver project work within schedule and cost constraintsCommunicate the status of engineering progress to the team, stakeholders and managementKeep the Senior Manager and other engineering management informed of major emerging technical issuesAssure compliance to procedures, standards and regulatory criteriaEnsure that engineering work is performed with a high level of integrity through rigorous enforcement of work processes and technical reviews of team deliverablesDemonstrate visible, continuous leadership in the areas of Safety and QualityImplement quality assurance policy and requirements for the project.Recommend staff changes (new additions, replacements due to attrition, de-staffing) and work with Human Resources to manage approved staffing changes.Support the development of direct reports through mentoring, training, and challenging assignmentsReview and concur with technical content of SOWs and subcontract packages prior to bidKey Qualifications and SkillsB.S. or higher in nuclear engineering or other relevant engineering degree, with a minimum of 8 years' experience in the nuclear fieldAdvanced knowledge and experience in nuclear quality programs, design control, and configuration management principles, practices, and tools are required.
