TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Codes and Standards Engineer III in Atlanta, GA.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Evaluate code year changes and their impact on productMaintaining online based sites for storing and accessing shared codes and documents for historical purposesPerform equipment inspections using traditional methods on new products in test environment.Communicates with other elevator industry specialists through ASME committees, NEII committees, Authorities Having Jurisdictions and other elevator related organizations.Code writing and editing and all of the activities connected with this.Supplies technical support as needed for field offices with issues that arise with product code compliance.Technically assist as needed with product variances required for local job specific installations.Provides leadership for the risk assessment process as outlined by ISO-14798.Puts together product submittal packages that are used to submit our products to the local jurisdictions (and provides the technical support to follow-up until approval).Performs significant technical code-conformance reviews of products.Assists with the management of the NEII Codefinder database for the TKE assigned locations.Assists in the review of warranty claims and resolutions of job specific product issues.Interact with the certification organizations as needed on initial certifications and update type product reviews (CSA, UL, TUV, ETL, LiftInstitutt, etc).Must be capable of dealing with all engineering disciplines (project management, manufacturing, field engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, etc).Must be capable of running significant engineering projectsMust have excellent written, computer, presentation and oral communication skillsMust be capable of representing the company as a legal expert witness as required.Communicates with various other internal and external customersParticipates/leads cross-functional teams.Visits field installations (as required) to gather product knowledge and information.Performs other job duties as required.
Who we are looking for
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (or equivalentexperience).Must possess written and verbal skills to be able to clearly communicate ona technical level, and be fluent in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,PowerPoint, and Outlook).Requires 5 years' experience in elevator design or technical relatedfields (experience working with elevators and elevator codes is highlydesirable).Ability to work with codes including but not limited to: ASME A17.1, ASMEA17.2, ASME A17.3, ASME A17.5, A17.6, ASME A17.7, NEC, IBC Building Codes,Accessibility StandardsMust understand and present on technical topics related to elevators and codesMust be capable of travel to the sites of various meetings throughout NorthAmerica.Must be capable of dealing with all engineering disciplines (projectmanagement, manufacturing, field engineering, mechanical engineering,electrical and computer engineering, etc).Must have excellent written, computer, presentation and oral communicationskills.Communicates with various other internal and external customers.Participates/leads cross-functional teams.Visits field installations (as required) to gather product knowledge andinformation.
