Description
End-User Support: Provide first-level technical support to end-users in person, over the phone, or via remote tools. Assist with the resolution of hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly and efficiently.
Hardware and Software Installation: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and software applications. Set up new workstations and ensure proper functionality.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to operating systems, applications, hardware, and network connectivity. Identify recurring problems and implement preventive measures.
System Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and security configurations. Ensure antivirus software is up to date and run periodic system scans.
User Training and Documentation: Assist users with basic training on software applications and provide guidance on best practices. Create and maintain user documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles.
Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, including tracking and documenting equipment assignments, repairs, and replacements. Coordinate with procurement to order necessary equipment and maintain appropriate stock levels.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Desktop Support Specialist or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
Familiarity with desktop hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices.
Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus
