Job Description
The individual supporting the IT Strategist/Executive Communications/Business analysis area is responsible for the support of executive leadership, within the Resource Management and Transformation (RMT), having in depth customer knowledge, providing strategic support, leading teams that are developing solutions on behalf of DHS client, as well as managing the expectations and relationships of business stakeholders.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Support all aspects of executive level communications (oral and written). Target audiences include other government executives, organizational team members, external individuals. Develop ongoing relationships with various business stakeholder communities. Track high-level objectives for the different organizations (divisions)Identify strategic and tactical business priorities for individual organizations and identify potential analytics and data needs Assist stakeholders in qualifying and quantifying analytics needs. Manage and maintain organizational management relationships before, during, and after project development efforts. Perform analysis and document business requirements as they relate to existing systems. Identify business decision making scenarios within requirements detailsIdentify and define business information terminologyDifferentiate business requirements from functional, data, and other requirements details Experience working in multi-member software development teamsComfortable in writing/submitting articles to newsletter and publications about the teams analytics, project, and data successes Assist management and team members in developing (writing) presentations and documents Assist organizations leadership in responding to writing requests/communications Experience in developing (and documenting) organizational operating/implementation plans that identify quarterly and yearly project deliverable objectives Support the development of articles to be included in the organization's monthly newsletterMust have strong communication skills and ability and desire to lead. Must work effectively in team-based organization with fluid functions and demanding users.An understanding of "process", particularly inputs and outputsand linear implementation.Able to communicate with business stakeholders in a manner that focuses on business-level terminology, decisions, and issues. This includes the translation of business requirements into data and data-oriented business questions.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Understand of the Federal budget cycle and financial and budget accounting process. Experience in relational database systems and data warehousing. Experience working all facets of requirements gathering, identification and analysis (business requirements, data requirements, and functional requirements).Knowledge of data modeling and experience in developing high-level (or conceptual) data models as a means of documenting data requirements is preferred.Degree in communications + MBA preferred + Certifications in IT
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120560 - $175000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
