Department Office Manager
This position provides managerial support to the department chair, faculty, and staff, oversees the onboarding of new part-time student employees in the department, trains and supervises part-time secretarial staff, manages department events, manages access to department facilities, and provides necessary support to keep the department of Electrical & Computer Engineering running smoothly and effectively. The department is a great place to work. It has a positive, uplifting environment that promotes collaboration, integrity, and a collegial environment. What you¿ll do in this position:
Management of Electrical & Computer Engineering Office
Maintain a friendly and courteous office atmosphereInterview, hire, train and supervise part-time office employeesOversee purchasing & travel processesDepartment Chair & Faculty Support
Assist with planning and managing department chair¿s calendarComplete faculty activity reports, student reports, helps with accreditation documents, provides information for ASEE, IEEEAssist faculty to accomplish educational and research projects as they ariseManage Student HiresManage Department Functions
Document and plan department meetingsPlan and coordinates department social eventsOversee department press releases, advertising, and social mediaCoordinate travel plans for department visitors, prospective faculty members, and seminar speakersManage Alumni Connect, alumni contacts, and Alumni Outreach eventsAssist companies with job postings & creating Handshake accountsManage Student Programs and Recruiting
Manage recruiting, mentor-matching, and hiring for the IMMERSE programManage recruiting, mentor-matching and hiring for the IMMERSE-X programManage recruitment events targeted at undergraduate studentsManage student internship opportunities and matching What qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU2 years of office experience and 3 years college or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred
