  Performs work to assist in the organization and implementation of projects and programs. Responsibilities include activities which require knowledge of departmental procedures. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained.

  Major/Essential Functions:

  To develop and conduct outreach and engagement opportunities (personal, virtual, and digital) between the Paleontology Division and community partners, e.g., K-12 schools, youth groups, special interest groups, and the community at large. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise graduate and undergraduate assistants.

  The division's collections are an important source of educational and research information for the public, students, and scientists. The Paleontology Division contributes to the education of students in both the paleontology and museum science programs at Texas Tech through participation in fieldwork, lab work, classroom instruction, work/study, practicums, internships and research.
