As a Sustainability Program Manager Lead you will be responsible for developing strategy and executing programs that reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of our new launches and emerging business operations. This candidate will work with stakeholders throughout various Amazon teams, such as Real Estate, Transaction, Pre-Construction Management, Construction Management, Worldwide Building Design, Amazon Robotics, Worldwide Design & Engineering, Reliability Maintenance, and Amazon Operations to help design low- or net-zero-carbon facility solutions into new Amazon customer fulfillment (CF) facilities. This role will focus on leading a growing sustainability team, providing clear technical direction and strategy to the business and its leadership, pioneering new sustainability technologies, and serve as a thought leader to advocate for and justify sustainability-based decision making and investments across the global Amazon CF business (North America, LATAM, South America, APAC countries at minimum). This role will lead the acceleration of de-materialization and lower embedded embodied carbon material strategies, electrification and energy efficiency, chemical reduction in facility materials, water management, solar and other sustainable design strategies. The successful candidate will partner with new and existing internal business leaders and teams to help accelerate achievement of Amazon's bold Climate Pledge sustainability goals by 2040.This position may be remote, however, corporate-based candidates in Seattle, WA or Nashville, TN is strongly preferred. Estimated national, and occasional global, travel for this position is 25% to 40%.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:* Evaluate the embodied carbon and operational carbon of Amazon building designs and implement strategies to reduce the material intensity of Amazon facilities* Serve as a Sustainability and Energy subject matter expert (SME) to support project teams and external stakeholders to integrate sustainability and zero carbon solutions within building design and construction.* Develop and evaluate new design solutions that can reduce the carbon intensity of our buildings* Work with diverse stakeholders to coordinate, and implement, strategies to reduce, monitor, optimize Amazon's energy, water, and waste from building operations* Provide coordination of all engineering and architectural specifications for each building type* Coordinate architectural, mechanical, electrical, & plumbing (MEP) design specifications as required to support the facilitation of sustainability designs to all project stakeholders.* Analyze the energy reduction, operational and embodied carbon reduction, financial savings and costs associated with each net zero carbon design and recommend solutions to management for implementation* Analyze and communicate the financial impact of projects and initiatives.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA | Virtual Location - USA- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience- 5+ years of team management experience- 7+ years of cross functional project delivery experience- 7+ years of program or project management experience- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements- Bachelor degree in Civil, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field- 7+ years writing and managing technical documentation for field implementation (construction drawings, RFIs, supplemental instruction, design
