About this role
The purpose of Newmont’s People strategy is to shape and deliver the multiple best practice components of the HR value chain and life cycle to support Newmont’s purpose, strategies, and priorities. There has been significant business disruption over the past decade that has impacted the employment landscape, and the requirement of the People function to facilitate maximum productivity, employee engagement, and overall performance, through optimized best-in-class people work - right work, right people in the right roles in the right place.
The aim is for all managers to experience ease in leading & managing their people, working with streamlined and simplified people/organizational systems. By elevating the quality in designing productive and authorized people systems, Newmont will build the foundation for productive outcomes and future business scenarios.
In building for these future business scenarios, the challenge will be to anticipate future work, new technologies, digitalization and automation and an effective way of organizing work and roles, measuring success, in addition to meeting different working arrangements, team and leadership configurations and labor market expectations.
This is a support role that is set up primarily as Enterprise Guidance. The function establishes the standards, guidelines, policies, metrics, and improvement programs that will be executed by the BU, Site, or enterprise functions without modification. The central function is responsible for monitoring and governance of these standards.

What will you be responsible for?
The Director, Organizational Design will lead the implementation of the organizational design principals and framework, embedding them into how Newmont leaders work and lead.
Here is a snapshot of what your day to day will look like:
Growth Strategy / Governance
Provide leadership on Org Design principles and tools of leadership and their practical application to the delivery of business strategic goals and continuous improvement.
Support leaders in building systems, symbols, and behaviors to develop a purpose-driven, high-performing culture, aligned with the company values, engages employees, and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
Integrate the different elements of the Organization Design system into the overall Organizational Effectiveness program for the organization.
Provide framework that is robust and can Incorporate changing future work considerations into the organizational design framework.
Input into development of key success indicators and monitor the businesses, providing feedback on gaps and improvement.
Operations Excellence
Lead the implementation of Organization Design framework across the organization.
Support HR Business Partner relationships with senior leaders on key organization design and effectiveness initiatives and their impact and implications.
Use the organization’s change management framework to implement end-to-end organizational re-design/effectiveness business projects.
Support leaders to embed organizational design principles into the foundations of how teams are organized, the required systems and symbols are in place and projects deliver sustainable outcomes.
Build knowledge of the org model concepts, principles and leadership tools and the importance of the application to the work of leaders, through specific learning programs, coaching and advice.
Support peers in the HR Team to embed Org Design principles through all People systems and processes throughout the employee lifecycle.
Use data-driven approaches to assess organizational effectiveness, measure impact, and make evidence -based recommendations.
Safety & Sustainability
Incorporate safety and sustainability principles and requirements into the work and role design process.People
Build competency in Organizational Design for HR professionals (central and site based)
Support leaders to deliver effective, high performing teams, with the right people, focused on the right work delivered through the right roles in the right place.
Commercial

The salary range offered for this role is USD $138,240 to 164,160. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
