  The Datacentric Platforms and Architectures Department seeks a creative software developer or data engineer to join a team of motivated engineers passionate about researching, prototyping, understanding, and building data platforms and cloud native applications for the space enterprise. Join us to accomplish innovative work on modern data platforms that adopt the cloud and encompass self-service features.

  This role is hybrid with onsite presence in Chantilly, VA.

  What You'll Be DoingLead, coordinate, and collaborate with multi-functional teams to build and deploy cloud native applications that support the customer's mission.Research cutting edge technologies and prototype solutions for the customer and influence architectural enterprise decisions and provide guidance directly to the customer.Build enterprise data platforms and architectures for various data domains that provide operational excellence, security, reliability, performance & cost optimization. We use these platforms to increase velocity and innovation for Aerospace and our customers. This includes data model designs and prototypes, implementation and management of data warehouses or databases, and data analytics platforms.What You Need to be Successful

  Minimum Requirements for Data/Software Engineer:Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field(s)5+ or more years of experience in relevant fields in the industryKnowledge of at least one common programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C, Go)An in-depth understanding in at least one of the following technical subject areas: Container technologies and container orchestration systems (ex. Kubernetes/EKS). Cloud native application developmentCloud platform/infrastructure architectureWorking with databases (SQL, NOSQLData integration tools and pipelines such as Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, Denodo, or PalantirProven ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and working relationships with various levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractorsOutstanding communications skills: interpersonal (demonstrated in working diplomatically across organizations and tactfully advising decision makers), presentation (demonstrated in briefings), and written communications skills (demonstrated in technical reports or publications)Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance; which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. How You Can Stand Out

  It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:Advanced [Masters, PhD] degree from an accredited program in computer science or other applicable STEM concentrationHands-on experience with cloud technologies and services in on-premises (e.g., VMware) and commercial clouds (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Azure)Knowledge of semantic data management or graph databases (ex. Neo4J, AWS Neptune)Experience with SQL/NoSQL database solutionsActive security clearanceLeadership Competencies
