　　Thomson Reuters Special Services is looking for a talented and motivated technical intern with data science and programming skills to create, design, and build a data science project. In this role, you will leverage Thomson Reuters data to help understand and address an important U.S. government related data project. You will receive mentoring and advice from an experienced team of data scientists, research scientists, and software engineers. At the end of the internship, you will present your ideas and progress to the company as part of a larger session of intern presentations.

　　In this opportunity as a Data Science Intern you will: Work closely with a team of data scientists, research scientists, and software engineers to create, design, and build a proof-of-concept related to the field of national and global securityWrite well-designed, well-constructed, and well-tested codePerform statistical analyses or create machine learning modelsPresent your progress at the end of the internship

　　About You

　　You're a fit for the role of Data Science Intern if you have:The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance(Note: despite the first requirement, you will not need to apply for a clearance in this internship.)Any of the following academic levels in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Basic/Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field:Junior or Senior undergraduateBachelor's degreeGraduate studentExperience coding in at least one object-oriented programming language or functional programming language:e.g. Python, Java, R, Scala, C/C++Basic knowledge of statistics or machine learning principles (advanced knowledge is a bonus)Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for various audiencesProblem-solving and critical thinking skillsA desire to continuously learn new skills and technologiesA good team player mindset

　　Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week12-week paid internship (May-Aug)Hybrid schedule with 4 days being remote and one day in the office, with potential to adjust based on needsAll necessary equipment will be provided to you by TRSS at the beginning of the internship period
