　　We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science and Engineering Manager to lead our Infra Data Science and Engineering (IDSE) team. This team's goal is to provide predictable, trustworthy infrastructure usage and cost data, which serves as the backbone for infra spend governance controls and enables Pinterest to achieve its margin expansion goals. The team also delivers visualizations, tooling, and actionable insights that empower engineering teams to achieve their infra budgets in a scalable manner.

　　As the Manager for this team, you will oversee a group of data scientists and data engineers, and will collaborate closely with partners in Engineering, Finance and other Data Science teams across the company.

　　What you'll do:

　　Evolve team's vision and strategy in close partnership with the customers and partners. Mentor and grow a team of talented data scientists and data engineers by providing continuous and candid feedback and recognizing individual strengths and contributions. Guide the team in designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure for infra spend governance. Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast infrastructure costs based on historical data, technological trends, and business objectives. Ensure models are continually updated and refined. Utilize statistical analysis techniques and data visualization to generate actionable insights and reports on infrastructure costs, trends, resource usage, and cost-saving initiatives. Build processes and solutions to improve the quality, rigor and agility of analyses. Build a roster of high-impact analytical opportunities and engage with your team to deliver high-quality analyses to steer and drive action.

　　What we're looking for:

　　10+ years of industry experience with proven ability to apply scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data. 3+ years experience managing, mentoring and up-leveling other data scientists. Infrastructure experience and working knowledge of a major public cloud environment (e.g., AWS) or large private cloud preferred. Demonstrated execution and impact on cross-functional initiatives, strong communication skills, and a track record of influencing leaders and peers using data. Expertise in statistical methods and at least one scripting language (ideally Python). Proficiency in SQL and big data and tooling, such as SparkSQL, Hive and Presto. Strong business and product sense who can shape vague questions into well-defined analyses and success metrics that drive business decisions.
