About Data Center Design Optimization Manager, DC Design Engineering

  Description

We are looking for an Optimization Manager with design, construction, or commissioning experience to help drive optimization in our data center design team across the world.

As an Optimization Manager within our Global Constructability team, you will act as a conduit between Design Engineering and all other teams, providing a pragmatic and practical engineering-based support to both design engineering and associated teams. Delivery issues will be both presented to you by our own team and other associated teams, but you will also actively seek to recognize problems and develop solutions. Resolution of these issues will require a thorough understanding of the process of design and construction to enable a robust and manageable optimized solution to be developed, always considering the best interests of the AWS business.

  • Optimize the engineering input post design completion - driving consistent roles and responsibilities and accountability.

  • Gather and analyze stakeholder feedback from design, construction and operational issues to capture lessons learned and to drive improvements in the design process

  • Prepare and give detailed data-driven business reviews to senior management, focused on strategic programs and associated impacts

  • Ensure successful adoption of implemented optimization strategies through change management

  • Work closely with regional engineering teams to drive global consistency

  • Execute strategic business objectives while working with key internal stakeholders to improve delivery

  • Act as the initial point of escalation for complex constructability issues.

  • 25% global travel
