About Data Analyst, Audience Insights

  Job Description:

  As a Data Analyst, Audience Insights at Dow Jones, you will play a pivotal role in understanding audience behavior, preferences, and trends with a focus on growing subscriptions through quality reach and scale across our consumer brands, including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and MarketWatch. You will develop data-driven insights to inform content promotion, audience targeting, and engagement efforts within the Audience team in the greater Dow Jones marketing organization.

  Key Responsibilities

  Audience Segmentation & Behavior Analysis:

  Analyze audience data to segment readers and viewers based on demographics, behaviors, interests, and engagement levels in coordination with the Marketing Analytics team. Examine strategies aimed at driving organic audience growth and engagement for Dow Jones' consumer brands. Work with the Product team to analyze approaches to audience growth and monetization in an experimentation setting.

  Data Visualization:

  Create informative and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate insights to cross-functional teams, with tools such as Looker Studio and Tableau. Find elegant ways to distill complex collections of metrics into streamlined visuals and tools, enabling self-service analytics capabilities.

  Cross-functional Collaboration:

  Summarize and present data findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner, as well as communicate the implications of data insights for business strategies.

  Qualifications:

  1-2 years of professional experience in a marketing or data-related role. Bachelor's degree, preferably in a quantitative field (Business Analytics, Data Science, Social Sciences). Understanding of the fundamentals of SQL, data visualization tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau. Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets. Ability to deliver clear recommendations from data. An interest in data analysis and a desire to learn and grow in the field. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Passion for news and marketing, along with a curiosity about audience behavior.

  Pay Range: $40,000 - $160,000
