What will you be doing?
The Cyber Security Support Engineer will work with the Government on vulnerability assessments throughout the enterprise environment. Perform thorough analysis of the results from vulnerability scanning and reviews of the security posture within the environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stay abreast of current security vulnerabilities and potential implications to the DAF systems and inform DAF system owners of potential security threats to the systems and provide thorough analysis and industry standard recommendations on how to resolve or mitigate the threats introduced by the vulnerabilities.Provide expert analysis and recommendations on risk (to include impact and likelihood) and mitigation options for security findings, gaps and vulnerabilities. This includes developing appropriate responses to audit report findings.Support the DAF continuous monitoring program. This includes identifying and supporting the implantation of continuous monitoring mechanisms, strategies, and approaches.Work with the POA&M system owner to get resolution on the POA&M item or if the POA&M date needs to be extended, the Contractor shall require a valid justification from the POA&M system owner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet) technologies, Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) technologies, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publications.Knowledge of NIST Publication 800-series guidance, Technical Orders, Federal Laws and supporting Department of Defense publications, DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Web Servers, Database Servers, virtual systems, and network devices.10+ years' experience in Cyber Security/ITBachelor's Degree or Higher in Computer Science or related fieldDCWF certificationIAM/IAT level II CertificationSecurity Clearance: Top Secret/SCI with potential for higher read-ins
