Crossing Guards are part-time civilian personnel and must be at least 18years old. They are responsible for assisting students and otherpedestrians to safely cross DCR roadways by controlling vehiculartraffic. In addition, the ideal candidate must: Be able to work wellwith others. Report to their post on time and remain there for therequired length of time. (Ideal candidate will live in or nearCambridge.) Be visible to the public during school crossing times. Mustbe properly attired at all times. All uniforms, including accessories,must be kept neat and clean. Adhere to the proper procedures of crossingpedestrians. Work in adverse weather conditions. Stand or walk forprolonged periods of time. Communicate effectively. HOURS: CrossingGuard coverage at this location is 7:30-8:30am and 3:00-4:00pm(2:15-3:15pm on Wednesdays) on days when school is in session. Startingsalary is \$18.00/hour with annual pay increases. Training and uniformwill be provided. All candidates for the position of Crossing Guard willbe required to submit to CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) andSORI (Sex Offender Record Information) background checks prior to theirfirst day of employment.
