  Reference #: 2836685Summary/ Objective:The Counter Sales Representative plays an important role in supporting our goal of creating lasting value for those we serve by performing tasks to support the branch location and serve as a resource to customers. This position is responsible for offering counter support while exhibiting outstanding customer service skills and a commitment to quality and efficiency. You will work closely with our sales and operations teams to deliver customer experiences that promote and support our products and services while meeting customer expectations. The Counter Sales Representative promotes our culture, The SYD Way, and our core values to all those they serve.Essential Functions:Serve a group of diverse customers at counters by providing information on products or servicesAssist customers with product selection and applicationShare information as it relates to the SYD credit policy, various delivery options, in-house services, and training eventsProvide feedback on accurate product availability and delivery informationMake recommendations for stock items or customer service stock based on branch sales/customer inquiriesMaintain a neat, organized, and clean appearance throughout the counter area. Keep shelves, bins, and pegs stocked and properly labeledBe informed andMaintain current vendor/manufacturer promotional materials, displays, banners, sales collateral, and sales reference tools through the counter areaResponsible for oversight of products on bid and/or sales orders, including but not limited to purchasing from vendors and/or manufacturers, resolving customer problems, communicating lead times, ensuring delivery of orders, and processing creditsWork directly with vendors to obtain special pricing, when applicable.Grow sales and gross marginUtilize vendor websites for product searches, pricing, availability, and cut sheets.Review and manage daily reports and queues to maintain accurate prioritization and necessary follow-up on bids, open orders, and creditsMaintain Will Call orders, which may include calling customers, shipping orders, canceling orders, etc.Perform cycle counts, maintain inventory and location accuracyManage all inbound and outbound communications in a professional and timely mannerProperly maintain a daily schedule, e-mail, and voicemail to reflect current activities.Work with Customer Experience Manager and/or Outside Sales to keep account pricing relevant and contact information up-to-dateMake outbound calls to house accounts or prospects in an effort to grow business, as requested by your managerAssist customers with safely loading their vehicles with purchased productsPursuit of continuing education related to Schaedler Yesco Distribution products, services, and solutions.Competencies:

  Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and/or customer-related information.

  Ability to prioritize work based on customer need(s).Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  Willingness to seek continual education regarding newly available products.Supervisor ResponsibilityThis position is not a supervisory role and does not have any direct reports.Work EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in a Counter i.e., retail location. This position requires the use of such equipment as computers, internet, phones, and point-of-sale technology.Mental DemandsAble to maintain a customer service-focused approach to all customer interactions.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Able and willing to collaborate with different Schaedler Yesco Distribution departments as needed to meet customer needs.Ability to analyze workload and establish priorities based on customer demand and time-sensitive tasks.Ability to make sound decisions that are based upon ensuring customer satisfaction, while in accordance with Schaedler Yesco Distribution guidelines and practices.Physical emandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:Lift up to 50 pounds at a time.Work on their feet for prolonged periods of time.Safely traverse the warehouse floor when applicable.Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently.Talk and hear, both in-person and via telephone.,Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Travel:Travel is not a daily requirement of this job.
