Title: Coordinator of Volunteer Services

REPORTS TO: Vice President - Development
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains ongoing volunteer programs by recruiting new volunteers, maintaining communication with current volunteers, planning program activities and supervising program as needed
Plays a key role in special event planning and execution
Works to increase communication with current and prospective volunteers
Provides direct volunteer support as needed
Develops, organizes and operates all volunteer department functions
Maintains database of volunteer positions and ensures regular, updated online posts
Provides initial screening of potential new volunteers
Develops and maintains computerized and/or manual records, monitors data on all volunteer activities and prepares regular analytic reports
Develops content for newsletter
Coordinates volunteer involvement with local institutions of higher learning
Creates modes of volunteer appreciation and identifies and nominates volunteers for local and national awards
As assigned, provides departmental support services such as typing of letters, mailing labels, and other communications; may compose correspondence; may conduct routine follow-up activities
Compiles targeted mailing/email lists
Processes departmental requisitions and purchase orders; orders and maintains departmental supplies
Performs other related tasks and projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
College credits or degree preferred; experience with working with people with disabilities a plus
Ability to perform physical activity
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
