Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Controls Specialist in our Cleveland, Tennessee Hot Stamping Facility. The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing automated robotic systems to increase production volume in high-throughput operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. 　　Summary of Responsibilities:

　　Conduct research into the feasibility, design, and operation of robotic mechanisms, components, or systemsExecute industrial mechanical knowledge of process automation

　　Ensure functional design specifications are understood and successfully delivered on time and within budget

　　Involvement in new project engineering and controls programming  

　　Integrate robotics with peripherals such as welders, controllers, etc.

　　Utilize lean-manufacturing principles by improving process capability, reducing overall costs, and increasing capacity  

　　Ensure compliance with all legislative safety requirements

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Degree or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution; Programs of study would include Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, and Industrial Controls

　　3 years of relevant experience related to industrial automation and design

　　Ability to instruct and retain information

　　Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral

　　Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

　　Proficient using Auto CAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and computer controls systems

　　5 years of relevant experience related to industrial automation and design
