JOB SUMMARY:
Pratt Miller is looking for highly talented senior-level Controls Engineers to support vehicle controls and software development, electronics integration, and system commissioning. The Controls Engineer will utilize fundamental engineering knowledge and practices along with working experience to support design and development of control algorithms. Performs assignments and leads projects with minimal instruction and guidance from senior level engineers & managers. Develops and improves processes and tools. The role will support the development of prototype and concept vehicles, with a strong focus on vehicle electrification, autonomous vehicles, and unmanned vehicle platforms. An open mind to new challenges and a desire to constantly learn is a must for any candidate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Controls DevelopmentLeads all controls and software development activitiesWorks with cross functional project leads to ensure project successDefine controls architecture, platform, and functionalityDefines and creates control algorithms for specific systems in a Simulink environmentDevelop and test controls performance through modeling, bench, and vehicle testingIntegration and commissioning of prototype systems in development vehiclesSystem Simulation and ModelingFormulate multi-domain models of mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic systemsIdentify and analyze important performance metrics and system specifications from model resultsModel correlation and validation to test dataUse models to develop and test controls algorithmsSystem Hardware SpecificationSupport design, selection, and integration of electronic componentsCommunicate mechanical requirements of system to design staffIdentify controller hardware to meet I/O and computational requirementsCommunicate wiring and connector requirements to support harness buildsADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
