A locally owned and operated business is seeking their future Controller as they grow and expand their market. This hospitality business is seeking an experienced accountant to lead the next generation while learning from the systems and people currently in place.
This Controller will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, reporting, cash flow, and simultaneously bridging the operations team and budgeting process across the organization. This incredible opportunity will develop accounting process and people for forward thinking strategic planning and development.
Responsibilities
Present leadership with monthly financial reports
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Requirements
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
CPA or MBA preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Foundational knowledge in cash flow management
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems
Practical knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
Accounting close process experience required
Bookkeeping experience
General familiarity with intercompany accounts
General ledger experience highly desired
Financial reporting experience
Skilled in the presentation and delivery of financial data to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent and meeting deadlines
