  The University of Miami is currently seeking a Concierge Coordinator to work at Desai Sethi Medical Center in Miami. The incumbent coordinates the full cycle of medical services for international or VIP patients by gathering all pertinent data from patient, referring physicians, and payers. Organizes transportation and lodging for patients transferring to or seeking services at UM facilities. Schedules appointments, registers patients, and verifies insurance coverage. Negotiates discount and bundled package pricing, and obtains letters of agreement and payments from self-pay patients and other payers within guidelines. Follows up with patients and non-contracted payers to collect funds. Serves as an after-hour contact for one week on a rotating basis. Troubleshoots any problem independently and expeditiously. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

  Department Specific Functions

  Responsible for managing daily activities with Concierge Premier Members and will require collecting and scheduling appointments.

  Implements develop, supervises, and evaluates all assigned duties related to the practice requirements.

  Assist the department in managing expectations surrounding pre/post-care.

  Answers multiple requests for the department to include incoming triage calls, responding to questions or requests in a timely matter and documents messages in the appropriate programs such as UCHART/EPIC, Microsoft programs.

  Greets visitors and callers, handles their inquiries, and directs them to the appropriate person.

  Works cooperatively with fellow employees and other departments to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the practice while displaying a positive attitude.

  Responsible for regular communication of the department's role to University Leadership and appropriate internal and external parties.

  Provides reports to the Director related to the department's activities and operations.

  It is vital that they maintain the confidentiality of all information.

  Must be willing to travel/float between sites as needed.

  CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  Education:

  Bachelor’s Degree in related field required

  Experience:

  Minimum 1 year of relative experience required

  Patient safety is a top priority.
