The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for Community Event Facilitator/Moderator to support our government customer located in Oahu, HI.
Work sites/locations include on-site support at NCTF-RH offices, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, nearby venues, and Honolulu offices. Periodic meetings shall occur throughout Oahu. There is no anticipated travel outside of Oahu.
Normal business workdays are Monday through Friday during normal business hours, however, after hours support may be required at times. Facilitation, Training, CRI and Consent Order Public Meetings may occur outside of normal working hours.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understanding of Hawaiian culture / traditions and women-led organizations.
Addressing and bridging communications between parties (public/government).
Address conflicts, providing pathways to solutions including coaching of public/government as required.
Meet with CRI members prior to monthly meetings (4 hours/meeting) for meeting preparation in-person preferred with virtual and teleconference as an alternative. Location for CRI member meetings will occur outside of Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam and may occur outside working hours.
Meet with NCTF-RH CRI lead prior to monthly meetings (4 hours/meeting) for meeting preparation in-person preferred on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. Base access will be required for these meetings which will occur during normal working hours.
Provide counseling/training to assist with completion of storming/forming phase of group dynamics, with goal of group development of self-facilitation behaviors where possible. At least 4 meetings for intensive counseling/facilitation will occur at a minimum of 24 hours/month for the base period. Facilitator will provide constructive feedback to meeting participants, both in a group and individual setting on lessons learned, areas for improvement, challenges and successes both verbally and type-written means (via PDF format) within 72 hours of each meeting.
Location and times for counseling/training to be determined by CRI members and provided to NCTF-RH CRI representative who will coordinate with the facilitator. Meeting location logistics will be coordinated by CRI members and will be a public meeting space (e.g. library, community center).
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Completion of recognized facilitator courses or possession of professional facilitator certification(s)
Bachelors degree in related field (may include communication, psychology, organizational behavior, cultural arts or studies) preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
At least five (5) years of experience performing similar facilitation duties in similarly complex environments.
Experience performing facilitation roles between the general public and government.
Experience facilitating high visibility and sensitive topics.
Proven record of developing mutually agreeable outcomes and improving communications and perspectives.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have at a minimum a favorable National Agency Check (NAC).
