Location: Based in Pennsylvania- travel to client sites required.
The Commissioning Specialist is ideally located to support our market with the majority of our work in Pennsylvania and some in surrounding states. The primary responsibility of the Commissioning Specialist will be the development and commissioning of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects with customers of the company. This position is critical to the success of the business long term.The Commissioning Specialist serves as the technical resource to the engineering, construction, and post construction teams and is responsible for administering , implementing, and ensuring proper functional operation of the upgrades at customer facilities. There will be significant opportunity to interface with subcontractors and customers.This position is best suited to someone with an entrepreneurial spirit; diversity of technical expertise; strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and excellent customer care skills. The opportunity also provides a great career opportunity within the energy services industry as it will cover all phases of a project including sales support, proposal development, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and measurement and verification of savings.
ResponsibilitiesCreate and implement commissioning plans and schedules relevant to the scopes of work developed and delivered by the Company specific to the needs of each project;Create, supervise, and approve commissioning scopes of work for subcontractors of the Company to execute;Ensure subcontractors execute the scopes of work they are contracted to complete within the timeframes outlined;Maintain a commissioning punch list to ensure that all issues are resolved. Assign items to the appropriate TEN team member or subcontractor;Contribute commissioning documentation to the Company's construction team as part of delivering as-built and operational and maintenance documentation;Maintain a Lessons Learned document for each project and report the lessons at the conclusion of the project (sooner if necessary);Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the commissioning process and documentation to be included.Liaise, at times, with customer staff on behalf of the company to ensure that the customer's concerns are being addressed;Adhere to TEN's and the Customer Safety Standards;Conduct self-study and improvement (e.g., formal training, research, reading) to maintain and improve personal proficiency to provide the requirements of the position; Complete certifications as required by the Company;Perform other duties as required;Travel, as required.QualificationsBachelor's or some other degree in the field of engineering, mechanical building systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS); Or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience;Five (5) years of mechanical building systems commissioning and building automation system (BAS) controls re ated experience;Some certification considered a plus but not necessary; Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) with AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), or Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) with Building Commissioning Association, or Building Commissioning Professional Certification(BCxP) with ASHRAE;Familiarity with commissioning software is considered a plus;Strong, professional customer-focus with well-developed customer relations skills;Strong problem-solving and planning skills to organize multiple priorities and to set and meet multiple goals and deadlines;Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences;Confidence and ability to work under pressure;Ability to attain Federal Security Clearances;Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project software;An entrepreneurial spirit;Ability to travel for some extended periods of time dependent on the number of projects being commissioned at any one time.
