About Program Manager, Security and Loss Prevention Surface Transportation Program Implementation

  Description

Our operations network, known for our speed, accuracy, and exceptional service, delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. To keep our operations network secure and assure operational continuity, we are looking for an experienced professional who wants to join our Surface Transportation Program Implementation (ST PI) team as Program Manager for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). In this key role, you will provide security services and asset protection (i.e., lives, buildings, equipment, data, and professional property) through the design of physical infrastructure and processes across the EMEA Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Surface Transportation environment.

  Key job responsibilities

  • Drive operational and tactical risk-based security programs and projects specific to ATS Surface Transportation within EMEA to prevent theft and losses

  • Develop risk-based as well as cost-effective security solutions for Surface Transportation and engage internal and external stakeholders to implement the security solutions

  • Create security standards, programs, assessments, and procedures for the supply chain and collaborate with key regional stakeholders for their consistent implementation

  • Ensure compliance to security standards and requirements for Surface Transportation security, partner with stakeholders to implement effective audit programs to detect, prevent, and mitigate Surface Transportation losses, and follow up on definition and implementation of corrective action plans

  • Contribute to reducing business losses from security incidents by identifying and understanding vulnerabilities, MOs, and implementing the appropriate means and measures to protect transported assets in linehaul, rail, and sea

  A day in the life

As a Program Manager on the ST PI team, you will drive operational and tactical risk-based security projects and programs specific to ATS Surface Transportation within EMEA. To achieve this goal, you will pilot and expand security solutions and processes, create standards, SOPs, and other specifications for the EMEA ATS Surface Transportation team. In addition, you will support and act upon investigation activities concerning losses and other incidents within Amazon’s Surface Transportation. You will also conduct audits to assess the security of potential or existing business partners and vendors in the areas of transportation, storage, logistics, and distribution of Amazon products. Finally, you will define and implement regional surface transportation security strategies for education and awareness across the organization.

  About the team

Working in partnership with our stakeholders, Security and Loss Prevention secures the Amazon supply chain end-to-end and promotes security during business conversations. Sitting within Security and Loss Prevention, the ST PI team does this by developing and implementing risk mitigation programs to prevent Security and Loss Prevention-related risks and vulnerabilities within the ATS Surface Transportation environment as early as possible. Continually assessing the programs and adjusting to support the ever-changing operational requirements, we deep dive root causes and embed standards and processes to improve productivity and prevent re-occurrence of incidents. We also provide frameworks for standards to enable business units conduct their daily operational tasks whilst mitigating risks accordingly. To reach this goal, we collect and consolidate information to evaluate existing as well as evolving modus operandi. Collaborating with additional Security and Loss Prevention support function teams, we assess the risk and develop programs to minimize potential impact. We also provide strategic, tactical, and operational programs for customers’ as well as stakeholders’ business needs and priorities by working closely with EMEA business leaders, support functions, and other security functions in a global framework.
