Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Commercial Manager to join our team!
In this role, you will join a leading professional engineering, construction, and cost management team working on multiple projects in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). KAFD is a master plan development positioned to become Riyadh’s new Central Business District that combines a mixture of world-class commercial offices, hotels, retail spaces, and contemporary residences in addition to smart city solutions that redefine urban living.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Provide support and guidance on all commercial issues within the project and ensure that commercial support staff attain their maximum potential.
Interact with clients and address all inquiries related to commercial and contracts to maximize the profitability of projects.
Payment of contractors and consultants
Internal cost comparisons and cost projections
Analysis of cost over-run and other implications.
Negotiation of subcontracts.
Preparation of contractor pre-contract work packages; manage bid process; tender analysis
Negotiate final accounts
Maintain payment logs, variation logs, and claims logs
Review variation submissions
Review construction cost reports submitted by the Cost Consultant
Draft and review contractual letters
Review and respond to Claims
Advice on contractual matters related to financial issues
Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements
Ensure that quantity reconciliations are conducted accurately by the Cost Consultant
Assist in the preparation of internal invoices
Responsible for all financial contractual issues arising during the duration of the contract.
Identify legitimate contractual claim situations and prepare suitable and sufficient documentation for clients.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field and 15 years demonstrable experience in commercial roles; 10 years on civil engineering projects; 5 years in GCC.
Knowledge of a wide range of contract conditions.
Knowledge of relevant IT packages and applications.
Knowledge of partnering contracts.
Knowledge of traditional and design and build contracts.
Good team player and communicator.
Ability to work on own initiative and meet deadlines
Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
