Description:
The CNC programmer utilizes CAD/CAM software to develop programs to control contour-path machining of Aluminum parts on CNC mill and lathe machining centers.
Ensures conformance to established procedures and Engineering Specifications.
Must be self-confident and pay close attention to detail.
Strong GD&T skills, excellent communication, and adherence to safety and quality standards are essential.
Program and utilize CAD/CAM & Engineering software such as MasterCAM, Vericut, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
Write CNC programs with cost-effective and productive algorithms using new and pre-existing tooling & fixtures for various machining centers.
Update and optimize existing CNC programs as required.
Determine the best setup, machining strategy, order of operations, tool selection, speed/feed parameters for each project by reviewing orders, drawings, engineering plans, materials, specifications (i.e. surface finish), machining parameter, interpreting GD&T
Set up 3 and 4 axis CNC milling and turning machine centers.
Must be able to program and troubleshoot parts that require tolerances at .0005"
Analyze, set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
Must be efficient with tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates.
Collaborate with team members to develop a standardized process for machining, work holding, and set-up to increased efficiency and productivity.
Works closely and communicates with team and/or related staff to resolve any issues or risk related to products.
Responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product.
Troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Ensure success as a CNC Programmer you will have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work unsupervised.

Develop continuous improvement initiative
Ensure shop methods and machines are operating as efficiently as possible.
Improve shop flexibility through continuous improvement initiatives.
Improve output of shop without a corresponding increase in costs.
Ensure that CNC functions are completed in accordance with company policy and procedures.

Must Haves:
5 Years CNC set-up and programming experience
High competence in fields of CNC machines, tooling and programming
Must have in-depth knowledge of CNC safety practices and use of Personal Protective Equipment
Experience with GD&T
Experience with 3 & 4 Axis Mills
Good understanding of trigonometry
Software:
Knowledge of Fanuc B-Macro programming (or willing to learn)
MasterCam certification
Vericut and AUTOCAD Proficiency in programming software and (MasterCam) and CAD (SolidWorks)
Strong knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word
Strong knowledge of G+M codes
Nice to Have:
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
