Event-driven architecture will be a key enabling technology for our most critical strategic objectives such as IT OKRs around data drives every decision, 90%+ applications are in the Cloud/SaaS, and 99.999% mission critical availability for critical infrastructure.

　　We are looking for a senior cloud engineer to act as the team technical lead for Event Driven Architecture platforms to develop process for automated onboarding to the platform, scalability for our access management, and provide crucial support to critical client projects such as PI Tech's client activity ledger and ES&F Fraud modernization efforts. Primarily this role includes continuing to expand features available within the Confluent Kafka Platform. Confluent is a SaaS product which provides Kafka infrastructure. Kafka is a technology that helps drive an event driven architecture, changing the way Vanguard looks at system dependencies and design. As the team technical lead, you will help us transform our current architecture to take advantage of Confluent's "producers and consumers" model. Our team is a full stack team owning base level components for each cloud based event driven architecture technology in Vanguard. Additionally, in this role you will provide technical support for AWS services such as EventBridge, Kinesis, and SNS, including guidance when a client should utilize these versus Confluent.

　　In this role, you will:

　　Plan and implement new technologies and major releases for the most critical enterprise-wide IT cloud platform projects. Design, implement, and deploy cloud computing systems to support and meet business needs. Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for improvement and performance issue solutions.

　　Provide expert level technical support and ensure reliable operation of cloud production. Diagnose and solve the most complex issues for cloud computing systems on multiple platforms. Maintains comprehensive technical knowledge of software and infrastructure platforms.

　　Develop technical standards. Test and evaluate IT vendor products. Review configuration parameters to optimize system performance and enhance operation uptime

　　Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow up production support. Submit change control requests and documents.

　　Learn and understand client area business functions and requirements. Figure out appropriate technical tool to address the client's business needs.

　　Train and mentor more junior staff on processes and technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve the most complex issues elevated from staff. Provides guidance and consultation as required. Updates, writes, and maintains documentation for the department.

　　Administer system activities. Write the technical portion of assigned deliverables. Perform systems analysis, including system requirements analysis and definition, and logical design.

　　Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
