Description:
Position Purpose
Participates in the provision of safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse or Physician through support of the standards and philosophies of MercyOne. Greets, directs and facilitates patient care. Completes all clerical functions within the clinic including scheduling and authorization records.
What You Will Do
Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a friendly and professional manner.
Answers all incoming phone calls, facilitating communication among staff, ancillary departments, doctors, and others by taking and transmitting messages and information to appropriate parties.
Assembles charts for new patients.
Establishes and maintains current patient demographics in the record and/or computer.
Pulls patient records for next day appointments and prepares charts.
Receive incoming test results and direct appropriately for follow-up.
Schedules appoints efficiently and accurately.
Places calls to confirm appointments.
Maintains patient charts, monitoring location and filing appropriate paperwork.
Assist in clinic flow by rooming, taking vitals, assisting with movement throughout clinic and other areas and transporting.
Complete routine daily assignments.
Perform additional duties as requested such obtaining and/or retrieving supplies and PHI from other departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Certified Nurse Aide, verification of certification from the State of Iowa.
Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
High school education or equivalent required.
Minimum of three years’ experience in a related field preferred.
Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Must be able to work concurrently on a variant of tasks in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.
Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change.
Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
