Position Summary:
Organizes, files, and retrieves patient medical records. Files various medical documentation, including patient notes, radiology reports, and lab results. Performs related clerical duties. May be responsible for clerical duties related to patient admission/discharge. Works with both paper-based systems and electronic medical records (EMR). Ensures medical records are maintained in a manner compliant with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements of the medical services system.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1.
Organize and evaluate medical records for completeness and accuracy.
2.
Close and file discharged patients’ medical charts. Review charts of discharged patients for deficient information and ensure compliance for correction of deficient documentation.
3.
Generate and prepare/assemble medical records.
Required:

High School Diploma or GED.

One year of related experience.
Preferred:

Post-secondary certificate or associate's degree in health information
