This internship is designed to introduce students to a career in the geotechnical, civil, and structural with an emphasis on heavy marine projects.

　　The primary responsibility is to carry out various assignments under the supervision of a Project Engineer in multifaceted work areas of planning, construction management, and inspection of field projects. Other duties include assisting in preparing, writing, and editing various technical reports and documents including project subcontractor scopes of work, work plans, technical memorandums, project completion reports.

　　This is a temporary position.

　　Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

　　Learns Company values, corporate and client objectives

　　Provides technical and engineering information to ensure field work complies with all engineering standards, codes and contract specifications.

　　Collects drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance

　　Assists with the tracking and evaluating daily production to accurately track project performance using company-approved methods and technologies

　　Assists in reviews of project specifications for quality assurance at the beginning of work, during the project work and after work completes

　　Assists with performing construction inspection duties in coordination with inspection staff

　　Prepares and reads plans, responds to subcontractor and vendor questions, and reviews specifications

　　Assists in analyzing problems and recommends solutions to problems

　　Attends daily safety meetings with field team and project leadership; presents field analysis as needed

　　Responsible for following established safety practices while performing assigned duties to protect self, co-workers, and the public from personal injury and to prevent damage to Authority property

　　Basic Qualifications:

　　Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college pursuing a bachelor or graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g. Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related field of study)

　　Beginner knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the project

　　Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others

　　Excellent verbal and written communication

　　Superb problem-solving skills using logic and data

　　Critical thinking and analytical skills

　　Valid Driver's License with clean driving record

　　Must be local to office or willing to relocate

　　Proficiency in MS Office
