Job Description Ryan Companies is looking for an organized, innovative, collaborative and forward-thinking Civil Engineer to join our team in either Chicago, Minneapolis, or Phoenix! The ideal candidate will be able to problem solve and design both as part of a collaborative team and perform work independently. Candidates with approximately 4-6 years of experience are most likely to be successful, however those with unique career experience or display clear potential for the role will be considered. Ryan Companies uses a unique integrated delivery process that involves architecture, engineering, construction, development, real estate management and capital markets. Ryan's integrated process requires an individual to be able to work in a proactive and positive manner in tandem with local teams and cross regionally within a national design practice. Some things you can expect to do: Work in tandem with Civil Engineers, Architects, Development, Construction and Consultants to develop documentation for coordination and construction. Participate in and can lead design meetings, consultant meetings and project team meetings. Direct and mentor intern level staff. Create complete and coherent design documents that depict site layouts, grading, stormwater management, erosion control and utilities. Create preconstruction schedules and assist in entitlement processes through Cities and other review agencies. Manage outside consultants such as traffic engineers, surveyors and environmental engineers. Independently solve problems. Provide guidance on unusual or complex issues. Perform tasks with a high level of collaboration and set an example for others to follow. Contribute to Ryan culture through participation in office activities, initiatives and learning programs. To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have your Professional Engineer License. You must have relevant work experience, strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. You will really stand out if you: Have strong knowledge of outer Autodesk products (Navisworks, Infraworks). Have strong knowledge of stormwater modeling software (HydroCAD).
