SUMMARY:
The physical therapist position for Therapy Solutions is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing and participating in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Review physicians referral, clients medical records and a client evaluation to help determine diagnosis and proper treatment plan. Plan, prepare and execute individualized treatment programs.Maintains a positive and professional approach while working with clients, co-workers, other professionals and the community.Documents appropriately and efficiently in clients files utilizing the EMR system.Evaluate treatment and progress at various stages and adjust as needed.Administer manual exercises, massage, or traction to help alleviate pain, to increase clients strength or decrease or prevent re-injury.Instruct client and/or family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.Discuss with the client, physician and other professionals, when needed, to assess the treatment plan.Inform and refer clients to appropriate professionals when diagnosis reveals physical therapy is not the best course of treatment at this time.Administer treatment involving a variety of physical therapy equipment such as; hot and cold compresses, ultrasound machines, infrared lights, etc.Evaluate, fit, adjust or repair medical support devices.Discharge client when goals or projected outcomes have been attained and provide for appropriate follow-up care or referrals.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works mainly in long-term care facilities.This position will also provide coverage within outpatient clinics.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires physical exertion in order to assist clients. As part of this position, an employee will need to lift clients, stoop, stand and kneel for long periods of time.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors, Masters, and/or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.Must possess or be eligible for state licensure.
